Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
1. Our Commitment to Privacy
At Word Unscrambler, we believe word games should be fun, fast, and private. We do not require account registration, do not collect personal identifying information, and do not sell user data.
2. Local Storage and Client-Side Computation
When you search for words or solve anagrams, the computation happens directly inside your web browser using our client-side word engine. The words you input are not logged or stored on our servers.
We use browser localStorage solely to save your personal preferences:
- Theme preference (light or dark mode)
- Your bookmarked vocabulary words
- Recent search history
- Daily word challenge streaks and completion times
This data remains exclusively on your device and can be cleared at any time from the Saved Words page or through your browser settings.
3. Third-Party Services
When you click a word to request its definition, a request is made to the public dictionary API (api.dictionaryapi.dev) to retrieve word meanings and pronunciations. No personal identity is shared with this service.
4. Changes to This Policy
Any updates to this privacy policy will be posted on this page with a revised modification date.
